This past Saturday Dr. Tom Coburn died @ the age of 72 from prostate cancer. Senator Coburn was one of the most financially responsible Members of Congress ever to serve in Washington – most famously using common sense to question funding the bridge to nowhere from Ketchikan, Alaska to the Island of Gravina that led to a sweeping earmark ban in Congress.

Good job Doug! I saw the obit on the internet. I was not familiar with him though. Sad that your coalition of staunch senators is dissolving.
ReplyDeleteI saw that in the news. Very sad, I respected him. Didn’t always agree obviously, but I liked him. That’s a nice thing you did Doug.
