The last post pointed out the risk to the Democrat party, & really to all of us, of putting all the eggs in the Joe Biden basket for president – the current favorite to win the 2020 presidential election on the basis of probability – simply by the numbers.
Specifically, the aforementioned post pointed out the danger to the Democrat party of socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders exposing Biden's inattention & ceaseless gaffes last Sunday in their two-hour one-on-one debate.
Well, following the principle of the opposite, Biden didn't lose, he won the debate.
Biden had been well coached & prepared for the debate to address Bernie's stale & worn out points promoting socialism & attacking America – a country Sanders despises. In Biden's favor there were not nine other Democrat debaters on stage interjecting disruptive comments to throw Biden off his prepared message so in fact the March 15 debate was easy for him to appear victorious. And of course the moderators cooperated. To appear the winner Biden only had to be prepared for a very small number of predictable points & not get flustered. Bernie did not disappoint & just like he showed what a quitter he was against Hilary in 2016 he quit again when he told Biden, unprovoked, he would support him for president without any reciprocal endorsement from Biden.
So far so good for Biden – but his anticipated debate gaffe problem appeared two days after the debate following his victory speech in Delaware after winning the Florida & Illinois primaries on March 17.

Biden is getting the nomination by default which shows a big weakness in the Democratic Party.
ReplyDeleteBottom line; Biden is one of the least intelligent people who has ever been a serious candidate.
The only thing that gives him a chance is the incredible inability of the Republicans to clearly state what they believe. While they tend to be more intellectually gifted, they are simply terrible at PR.
They also have a knack for Congressional leaders who should not be in charge of anything more than a small hot dog stand.
Coupled with their “losers limp” mentality the GOP gives a weak candidate like Biden a chance.
Going to be an interesting race and entertaining as well while we watch a senile Biden make gaffe after gaffe.
In fairness the senility is not the problem. Biden has been making dumb comments since his days as the junior senator from Delaware.
Doug - Yes; Biden was coached, probably extensively. He kept the debate simple, kept repeating to go to his web site. Bernie and the moderators did nothing major to disrupt this. There was no Elizabeth Warren to raise hell.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the American public has been very slow in learning that (1) Biden has been wrong on virtually every major foreign policy in his political life, (2) Biden is text book example of "quid pro Quo" with foreign aid in check, pressuring Ukraine to stop investigating Barista and his son, and would be under prosecution if US did not have a 2 tier justice system, (3) Biden appears to be suffering from dementia. Proof of AMerican public ignorance ? Look at the pro betters here -- Trump has only 46-45 odds in beating Biden; and more ominous -- the pro betters now have the Democrats odds at 53-47 to win the 2020 Pres election.
Given the incredible ignorance of many voters,the comment from DC that GOP must do a better job of succinctly stating their key principles, is more critical. GOP must also contrast their results & vision with the Dems Socialist vision. High time for Trump and GOP to step up in this game
Doug - Don’t you think the democrats know what a weak candidate Biden will be? If there is any chance of a brokered convention they would jump at it. Who do I think they would pick? Cuomo. And not Fredo.

So there must be decent odds of a brokered convention. Thus Michelle Obama may be asked to save the Dems. Betting would then be high she wins. Also if Biden is nominee, he may be forced to choose her as VP. It would then be beyond doubt Deep State establishment Dems would not allow Biden to make even a very minor decision. Odds are high then that Michelle Obama May become most powerful person in the world soon to the glory of the Globalists. Trump would have an exceedingly tough campaign. But do not underestimate him. End results of Corona saga and state of GDP Q3 will be critical. How he handles both will be key.
