About Me

In writing the "About Me" portion of this blog I thought about the purpose of the blog - namely, preventing the growth of Socialism & stopping the Death Of Democracy in the American Republic & returning her to the "liberty to abundance" stage of our history. One word descriptions of people's philosophies or purposes are quite often inadequate. I feel that I am "liberal" meaning that I am broad minded, independent, generous, hospitable, & magnanimous. Under these terms "liberal" is a perfectly good word that has been corrupted over the years to mean the person is a left-winger or as Mark Levin more accurately wrote in his book "Liberty & Tyranny" a "statist" - someone looking for government or state control of society. I am certainly not that & have dedicated the blog to fighting this. I believe that I find what I am when I consider whether or not I am a "conservative" & specifically when I ask what is it that I am trying to conserve? It is the libertarian principles that America was founded upon & originally followed. That is the Return To Excellence that this blog is named for & is all about.

Survey Shows Degree Of Ideological Agreement With Presidential Candidates

 
Be sure to click on the additional questions below the ones clearly shown for each topic to make sure you respond to all the questions.  Also to obtain the most accurate results indicate how important each issue is to you by making a selection on the bar located to the left of each question.  Please note there is "another stance" choice that will expand the selections – don't overlook this because it will give you more choices – I used it several times.
 
After you complete the survey an analysis will appear letting you know how your answers agreed or disagreed with the positions of the current crop of presidential candidates.  It will compare all of your answers with those documented by every one of the candidates so you can see who you agree with most & least.
 
During the 2004 presidential campaign a friend told me of a similar survey he took & that he was horrified to find that he agreed most with Dennis Kucinich.  Please let me know your  results & most important how you feel about them. 
 
I agreed with Bernie 16%, Hillary 24%, & 94% with my top choice so all in all that was not too bad.  But it can be surprising like my friend found out with Kucinich – in any event it is fun to see how the computer matches you up with all the presidential candidates.

    Hi Doug - I got Ted Cruz 90% and Donald Trump 84%. Hillary at 20% with no matching responses. I am not surprised that I matched Cruz, but am a little surprised about Trump. I answered every question and looked at "another stance" in every case. Thanks for an interesting quiz.

    Mine was Cruz 86%, Trump (& Libertarian Johnson) 81%. Bernie 47% & Hildebeast 18%.

    I side with Donald Trump on most presidential election issues. Trump 82% & Cruz 78%.

    I just took the 2016 Presidential election quiz and found that I side the most with Libertarian candidate Austin Petersen. Trump, Cruz, Kasich all between 75-80. Bernie 27%, Hilary 24%.

    When trying to transfer results to your post I lost it, but whoever Austin Peterson is, I agree with him 82%. Trump, next, don't remember percent. I remember Hillary, just under 50%

    I had sent it to my left wing nut cousin. She ended up with 90% Bernie, 75% Hillary and 45% Cruz. She asked how that could be as she hates Cruz. Told her she had to work beyond her hate and listen to him sometime.

    Surprised that Kasich scored as high as he did with me. Trump was still far & away the top though.

    Doug - Just did the Quiz you sent. I can't believe the results from my answers. The top 3 were all libertarians. Petersen, Cruz and McAfee and at #4 was Trump. They ranged from 77% to 66%. Go figure, I'm actually a libertarian. I've heard lot's from Cruz and Trump but I don't have a clue about the other two. I guess I need to check them out.
