BO's latest revealing moment brought many comments both before & after last night's subject posting & I am still seeing BO's words in Roanoke last Friday presented on TV again today – hope they stick & can penetrate the minds of the ignorant, disinterested, disengaged, uninformed, unconcerned, & unsuspecting voters who have not started to pay attention to what is about to happen to them in November. Below are two of the responses to the posting.
As many of you know I was in the engineering-construction business for 33 years. It did not take long for me to run into the term "off track project" – meaning that the owner of the business where the plant was being built or expanded was expected to install such things as traffic lights or make improvements to bridges, etc. as a condition of the site plan approval process – such approval being required before construction of the plant could begin.
I hope that if Elizabeth Warren or BO drove by any of these plants they didn't say "You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for ... Somebody invested in roads and bridges." My experience was that in many of these instances "that somebody" was the entrepreneur who was trying to expand his business all the while complying with the mountains of red tape the bureaucrats could think of to cover themselves & their paper shuffling employment that delayed the projects & the employment of people in the towns who were all too anxious to begin meaningful work.
Warren & BO should think of the "off track projects" involved in a project like Disneyland that opened to the public 57 years ago today in Anaheim.

I sent this on to one of my leftist buddies that I argue with on a fairly regular basis. Here is what I wrote to him:
Andy - Makes you want to give all of your money to a homeless guy behind the Piggly Wiggly and say 'Thanks!' doesn't it? But, wait a sec. Who paid for this stuff in the first place? Oh, yeah, the achievers.
According to the government http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.a.htm, there is a 243 million non-institutional civilian labor force base. 153 million (63.8%) hold jobs. Of those, 48%+ pay no federal income taxes. That leaves less than 80 million schmucks like you and me to foot the bill.
I say we should thank the other achievers out there for the opportunity!

As you have pointed out a few times recently, there is tremendous ammunition out there for Republicans to use against BO. The latest against individual success is a gift. Will Mitt take advantage of this with a commercial depicting BO as a Marxist? Use the damn picture of BO teaching how to attack the capitalist system at the U of Chicago (IBD has this picture). Then use his latest quote. This can be more damaging to a candidate than Bush the elder's Willie Horton commercial that sunk Michael Dukakis.
Democrats lie in commercials against Republicans. Ex: Paul Ryan look-a-like pushing Granny off cliff. Why then do Republicans fear bringing up controversial but true facts against Democrats? Because of the elite media which the public now holds in increasing contempt? What wimps! Our President is a Marxist. State the damn truth or loose the election.

I agree with the last comment. Many are not sure what to think, but using their own words is hard to ignore.
ReplyDeleteDoug Just read the latest comments on BO's insulting remark to anyone who ever tried to start and grow a business. The difference between the early 40s when my mother and dad started their clothing manufacturing business in the basement of a house in which they were renting an apartment and 1987 when I started the Hair Salon in N. Plainfield was like night and day. They were able to go from the basement to a small storefront to a larger one without a hiccup. The rules, regulations and delays I had to deal with from the township and the government rules that regulate the salon industry was enough to make you want to give up.
ReplyDeleteWhat you said about who really pays for the roads etc. in developments was great. I don't think people are aware of that and it would be a terrific rebuttal to BO's remark. Maybe you should put that knowledge to good use in a letter to the papers yourself.
